The AWM-500 series is a full-metal version of G-SHOCK's first analog/digital model. Based on G-SHOCK's first analog/digital combination model AW-500 released in 1989, hard stainless steel is used for the bezel and band. The band was developed for the AWM-500, and the smooth shape of the AW-500 is reproduced by designing the top near the case with a curved design. A screw back is used for the back cover. The bezel has a mirror and hairline finish that matches each side, and the texture is enhanced by adopting a three-dimensional index on the dial. The time is automatically corrected in the multiband 6 area.
